We’ll Find Happiness

Saad, a young Moroccan migrant, plans to make a dangerous journey to Canada with his Iranian lover Reza. When Reza faces deportation from Montreal to Iran—where he risks severe punishment or even death—Saad does everything in his power to save him. In a desperate attempt to prevent the deportation, Saad decides to seduce an influential spokesperson from the Ministry of Immigration. This risky choice places him in a moral conflict between love and opportunism, setting off a chain of events in which desire collides with political reality. The film offers a poignant portrayal of the vulnerable position of LGBTQ+ refugees and the consequences of contemporary immigration policies.
