Robertas Petraitis Nominated For Best Actor

Utrecht, 13 May – CINEMIEN is proud to announce that The Activist’s lead actor, Robertas Petraitis (who plays Andrius), has been nominated for Best Actor at the Lithuanian Film Awards. Prior to his role in The Activist, the up-and-coming actor held a key role in the hit Lithuanian comedy Southern Chronicles and received the Black Nights Stars Discovery Campus ICDA Award.

The Lithuanian Film Awards were established in 2008 and have been running for nearly two decades. These awards serve as a prestigious annual gathering for the Lithuanian film community, having recognised hundreds of filmmakers over the years.

The Best Actor nomination reflects the warm reception of the feature film, which has been selected for multiple festival screenings across Europe in 2026, including: Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (Tallinn, Estonia), Trieste Film Festival (Trieste, Italy), Lovers Film Festival (Turin, Italy), SUNNY BUNNY LGBTQIA+ Film Festival (Kyiv, Ukraine), Des Images Aux Mots (Toulouse, France) and Écrans Mixtes Festival (Lyon, France).

Last week, The Activist celebrated its UK premiere at The Arzner in London, attended by members of the cast, with additional screenings already lined up and more to follow.
